| Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 5401 Werner Street about 6 p.m. on Wednesday (October 14).
The victim, Louis Riojas, 29, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers H. Martinez and M. Althaus reported:
Mr. Riojas was in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address when a female walked up and slapped him in the face. A male suspect followed and also assaulted and struck Riojas in the face.
Approximately an hour later, Riojas was back outside and the male suspect, along with several other males, confronted and assaulted him. Riojas attempted to flee and was shot once in each leg by one of the unknown males. The suspects fled the scene. Paramedics transported Riojas to the hospital.
