Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 5200 Washington about 1:35 a.m. on Sunday (January 17).
The victim, Leslie Alanis, 41, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and A. Ferrell reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Ms. Alanis had been shot in the left shoulder. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Alanis to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined Alanis and her boyfriend were walking down Washington Avenue when they got into an argument with a male. After exchanging words, Alanis continued walking to their vehicle. A few minutes later, a black Infinity drove eastbound on Washington and stopped in the street. Multiple shots were fired from inside the vehicle and Alanis was struck.
The suspect is described only as a black male, 25 to 30 years of age.
