Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 3820 Old Spanish Trail about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday (September 29).
The victim, Ishmael Underwood, 35, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Thornton and E. Bridges reported:
Mr. Underwood and the suspect were driving in separate vehicles eastbound near the above address when the suspect stopped his vehicle in the street. Underwood honked his horn for the suspect to continue driving. Underwood and the suspect then got into a verbal altercation and the suspect drove into the parking lot of a fast food restaurant at the above address.
Underwood followed behind the suspect and attempted to block his vehicle. As Underwood exited his car and approached the suspect’s vehicle, the suspect fired multiple shots at Underwood and struck him in the head, abdomen and chest. Paramedics transported Underwood to the hospital.
The suspect fled the scene in a dark blue, compact, four-door vehicle with unknown license plates.
