Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 1776 Gessner Road about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (January 7).
The man, 36, was transported to an area hospital where doctors expect him to survive.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives S. Hall and J. De La Torre reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon call at an apartment complex at the above address and found a man on the ground. He had suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and the lower torso. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated the man, armed with two knives, approached several people in the apartment complex and lunged at them. One of the persons had a firearm and shot the man. No other injuries were reported:
