| Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 10201 Buffalo Speedway about 9:30 p.m. on Monday (June 21).
The victim, Nakiya Lizcano, 20, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Black and D. Crandall reported:
Ms. Lizcano and her boyfriend were in their apartment when the boyfriend got into an argument with a female friend of Lizcano’s, who was visiting. The boyfriend told the friend to leave and put her dog outside the apartment. A short time later, the boyfriend was in the restroom when someone came to the front door. He heard Lizcano answer the door, say a male’s name and shut the door. Gunshots were fired through the door and Lizcano was struck in the neck. She was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
