Houston police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile male that occurred at 10200 West Belfort about 11 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 29).
The victim, 16, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Bowling and L. Kauffman reported:
The victim was standing with a group of relatives and friends near a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address. A dispute broke out with a group of males in a vehicle that resulted in a suspect from the other group of males firing a gun into the ground multiple times. It is believed the victim was struck by bullet fragments from the ground strikes.
The investigation is continuing.
