Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver wanted in a hit-and-run crash in the 6700 block of South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 11:15 p.m. on October 8.
The suspect’s vehicle is described only as an older model, white or silver Ford F-250 pickup truck with heavy duty tires or off-road tires and a spotlight on the back tailgate of the vehicle.
A passenger, Darlene Marquez Winkler, 52, suffered multiple fractured ribs. A photo of Ms. Winkler is attached to this news release.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Officer A. Gomez reported:
Winkler was a passenger in a black Buick Encore traveling southbound at the above address when the suspect vehicle entered the freeway, crossed multiple lanes and struck the Buick. The Buick then struck a wall and rolled over. Paramedics transported all four occupants of the Buick to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford did not stop to render aid and fled the scene southbound on the South Freeway.
