Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 2600 North Main Street about 3:35 p.m. on Monday (July 8).
The identity of the man, 77, and his cause of death are pending autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer C. Song reported:
The man was driving a silver Toyota Corolla northbound at the above address on a bridge over White Oak Bayou. It appears he drove onto a curb and attempted to cross high water during inclement weather. The bayou’s current pushed the vehicle against a wall and the vehicle was submerged. Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
