Investigation into Man’s Death at 1106 Brenford Drive

The death of a man following an incident at 1106 Brenford Drive about 1 p.m. on Tuesday (May 25) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the man, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers C. Lamont and E. Martinez reported:

Officers were dispatched to an assault call at a group home at the above address and learned that two male residents got into a fight in the front yard of the home.  Paramedics were called and transported one of the men to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  The male had sustained trauma to the back of his head.

Witnesses stated the uninjured male was acting in self-defense during the incident.  The male, 57, provided a similar account to investigators.  After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the case would be presented to a grand jury.
