Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 8901 Veterans Memorial Drive about 4:45 a.m. today (July 16).
The identity of the victim, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Vinogradov and D. Crowder reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at a parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive male with severe trauma. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim and an unknown suspect got into an altercation in the parking lot of an abandoned business at the above address. The suspect got into a 2003 gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and intentionally struck the victim as he was standing in the parking lot. A surveillance photo of the pickup truck, with Texas license plates TDY9548, is attached to this news release.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his 50s, wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts.
