Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 600 McKee Street about 8:20 a.m. today (Sept. 6).
The identity and cause of death of the man, believed to be in his 40s, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to the above address after city workers clearing a hike and bike trail along Buffalo Bayou found the man unresponsive. There was apparent trauma to his body. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the man was likely homeless and lived under a nearby overpass. People in the area only knew him as John.
At this time, the investigation is pending the results of the autopsy.
