Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7000 Bissonnet about 6:50 a.m. today (March 29).
The identity of the deceased female victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer A. Hart reported:
The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck left a private driveway and had traveled a short distance when the victim and her child ran into the path of the truck. Both were struck by the vehicle. The mother was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The female child, 6, suffered minor injuries. The driver was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
