| The fatal stabbing of a male at 7500 Dyer Street East that occurred about 6:45 p.m. on October 1 will be referred to the Harris County grand jury.
The victim is identified as Xavier Berryman, 31.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing call at a residence at the above address and found Mr. Berryman deceased inside. He appeared to have sustained a puncture wound. Berryman’s girlfriend stated to investigators she stabbed him in self-defense.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, this case will be presented to a grand jury.
At this time, the department does not believe there is a continuous threat to the general public.
