Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man that occurred at 7314 Bigwood Street about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday (June 8).
The identity of the deceased male, 37, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence at the above address and discovered a male suffering from multiple stab wounds lying on the floor of the residence. Family members inside the house pointed out the suspect, who was hiding inside a back room. The suspect was detained without incident.
Both the victim and suspect were transported to area hospitals. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect was treated for unknown injuries.
Multiple witnesses stated the suspect and victim had an altercation that turned physical and led to the victim being stabbed. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the male was released and HPD investigators will continue their investigation.
