The fatal stabbing of a man at 500 Fannin Street about 3:30 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 15) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Zavala and A. Hernandez reported: Officers were dispatched to a stabbing in-progress call at the above address and observed an unresponsive male in the street. He had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced deceased by paramedics. Witnesses stated the male and another male got into an argument that escalated into a stabbing. Patrol officers detained the male suspect, 48, who was questioned by homicide detectives and then released. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the incident would be referred to a grand jury. JFC/SOA 1-16-24 Inc #007028024
