The fatal stabbing of a man at 4700 Wenda Street about 11:45 p.m. last Friday (May 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A female, 23, suffered minor injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Stephens and K. Hale reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a cutting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a stab wound(s). Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
Officers were told by the female that she and her boyfriend (the deceased male) had gotten into an argument regarding past issues. The woman stated the man then assaulted and choked her. At that time, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him at least once. The woman then called 9-1-1 and remained at the scene to speak with police.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and, based on the woman’s statement and corroborating statements from a witness, it was determined the incident will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
