Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 3226 Rosalie Street

The fatal stabbing of a man at 3226 Rosalie Street about 2:20 p.m. on Sunday (July 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a call for assistance from Houston Fire Department paramedics at a residence at the above address regarding a man found unresponsive lying in the street with stab wounds.  As officers arrived, a male suspect made himself known to officers and was questioned at the scene.  HFD paramedics transported the unresponsive male to Memorial Herman-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated the suspect and the deceased male were relatives and lived together at the residence at the above address.  The deceased male had been assaulting the suspect, who stated he was defending himself.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and the case will be presented to a Harris County grand jury for review.
