| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1000 East 40th 1/2 Street about 3:05 p.m. last Thursday (July 2).
The victim, John Peavy, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Martinez and R. Montalvo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Peavy deceased in the street and a second male transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
Further investigation determined a black Chrysler 300 circled the area several times before an unknown male suspect in the passenger seat fired shots at Peavy, killing him and wounding the second male.
