The fatal shooting of a male at 93 Veenstra about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday (January 12) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark, J. Brown and J. Pickett reported:
The male victim, 57, returned to his home at the above address and found the suspect on his property. The victim told the suspect multiple times to leave, which the suspect refused to do.
The suspect then advanced toward the victim brandishing a blunt object as a weapon.
The victim, fearing for his safety, then retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the suspect deceased.
