| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one male and the wounding of another at 8932 Clarkcrest Street about 5:45 a.m. on Monday (September 27).
The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other male, Chandler Fields, 25, was transported to an area hospital with a non life-threatening wound to the torso.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Elsbury and Detective D. Arnold reported:
Two groups of males were expelled from a nightclub at the above address for fighting. A short time later, one group drove by in a vehicle and were fired upon by the second group. The persons inside the vehicle returned fire toward the group, as well as armed security guards at the club. One security guard returned fire and struck two males in the vehicle. The driver fled the scene and drove the wounded men to the hospital where one of them was pronounced deceased.
The identities of the second group of males is unknown at this time. The suspects are described only as black males, 20 to 25 years of age.
