Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 7:35 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 1).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Pickett and R. Waterwall reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and observed an open apartment door and the victim unresponsive on a couch inside. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting was possibly drug-related.
