Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men at 8655 Pitner Road that occurred about noon on Monday (August 9).
One victim, Keishawn Cornett, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Lee Edwards, 19, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Cegielski and Senior Police Officer W. Gilbert reported:
Messrs. Cornett and Edwards were in an apartment complex parking lot at the above address when they were confronted by a male suspect and an argument ensued. The argument escalated to gunfire and Cornett attempted to flee in a vehicle. He was not able to travel far before the vehicle came to a stop where he was found deceased. Edwards was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspect, described only as a black male, fled the scene in a small black, SUV.
