Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8332 Hammerly Boulevard about 4:20 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 22).
The identity of the victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Persad and A. Grimes reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found evidence of a shooting at the location. The officers learned a family member transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
At this time, it is believed there may have been an altercation the previous night that led to the shooting.
