The male shooter, 45, was not injured.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective C. Davidson reported:
A man was returning home with his family and, as they arrived, noticed their trash can was blocking the driveway. The man got out of the vehicle to move the trash can while his wife parked the vehicle. At that time, the man was confronted by a male he did not know who was angry and behaving aggressively. The man (homeowner) and the male got into a physical altercation, during which time the homeowner shot the suspect. The homeowner then called police and remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the wounded male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and it was determined the case would be presented to a grand jury.
