Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man fatally shot at 6425 Westheimer Road about 10:15 a.m. today (Aug. 27).
The identity of the victim, 19, and the manner of his death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers B. Evans and T. Tyler reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment at the above address and were advised that a witness in the apartment heard a gunshot and then found the victim lying on the floor with a gun next to him. He had been shot one time. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
There are no charges in this incident, pending further investigation and results of an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Anyone with additional information in the case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
