The fatal shooting of a man at 6363 Beverly Hill Street that occurred about 4 p.m. on Saturday (November 7) has been referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Arrington and W. Dunn reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated a road rage incident between two vehicles led to an argument, during which the victim exited his vehicle and approached the other vehicle. The victim and the suspect got into an altercation, which ended with the suspect shooting the victim. Immediately after the shooting, a friend of the victim went to the vehicle and took possession of the gun. The suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle, as the victim’s friend fired shots at the fleeing vehicle. No other persons were struck by the gunfire.
