Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6225 Luce Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men and the wounding of two other males at 6225 Luce Street about 10 p.m. on July19.  

The identities of the deceased men, 34 and 28, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  Two additional males with gunshot wounds were transported to area hospitals  in serious conditions and are expected to survive.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Casso and M. Brady reported:

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting /home invasion call at a residence at the above address and found one male, wearing a ski mask, unresponsive and lying on the driveway and a second male, the homeowner, also unresponsive inside the residence.  Paramedics pronounced both men deceased from gunshot wounds. Two additional males, who fled the scene, were found at a nearby residence.  Both had sustained gunshot wounds and were transported by paramedics to area hospitals.

A preliminary investigation, evidence from the scene and witness statements determined the residence was a known location for narcotics activity.  Witnesses stated three black males wearing ski masks approached the residence, forced entry and began shooting.  At least two witnesses were able to retrieve firearms and returned fire.  Several firearms, narcotics and cash were recovered at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
