Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5712 South Gessner Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the wounding of a man at 5712 South Gessner Road about 6:45 a.m. on Saturday (July 8).

The identity of the female victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The male victim, 29, was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Burrow and J. Caten reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of an after-hours club at the above address and learned the female victim was shot and taken in a private vehicle to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.  Officers observed a male victim at the scene who also suffered gunshot wounds.  Paramedics transported him to a hospital.

It appears the shooting resulted from an argument between two parties leaving the club.  Multiple witnesses and possible suspects fled the scene on foot and in vehicles.  There is no suspect(s) description at this time.
