Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of another at 5410 North Braeswood Boulevard on Saturday (May 24).
The identity of the victim, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Nielsen and A. Lopez and Detectives K. Hale and C. Bowling reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital after a male was admitted with a gunshot wound. Officers learned a private vehicle transported the victim to the hospital. They were informed the shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address.
Witnesses told investigators the victim was meeting an individual at the complex for a transaction. The victim was inside a vehicle when he was approached by several black males. During the exchange, one suspect retrieved a firearm and shot at the victim, striking him at least one time.
Another male, 17, struck by gunfire suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
