Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 500 Oxford Street about 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday (October 5).
The identity of the victim, 40 to 50 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Jimenez and Officer J. Campbell reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
According to witnesses, the victim while the was standing outside his truck parked in the roadway on Oxford when an unknown suspect shot him. The suspect then got into an older model, white Chevrolet Tahoe and fled southbound on Oxford.
