Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male and the wounding of another male at 4412 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 1:50 a.m. today (August 24).
The identity of the deceased victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The second victim, 16, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Kauffman and C. Bowling reported:
The two victims were shot in a store parking lot at the above location. Two possible suspects fled the scene. Officers observed one of the fleeing vehicles and successfully detained the driver. The second vehicle was later recovered. The driver of the second vehicle remains at-large.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident, pending futher investigation.
