Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men and wounding of a woman in a murder/suicide incident at 410 Bagby Street about 8:15 p.m. on Thursday (July 8).
The identities of the two males – one a victim, 29, and the other the suspect (age unknown) – are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The female victim, 24, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Her name is not releasable until the male victim’s name is verified.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Smith and Officer M. Estep reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting in-progress call to a restaurant at the above address and observed two men and a woman inside the business. All three had been shot. Paramedics pronounced the men deceased at the scene and transported the woman to the hospital. She had suffered at least one gunshot wound to the leg. The male victim was the woman’s husband.
Video evidence showed the suspect approach the husband and wife in the bar area of the restaurant, produce a gun and then fire multiple shots at them, before turning the gun on himself.
The preliminary investigation, including a statement from the female victim, indicates the victims did not know the suspect. The motive in the shooting is unknown at this time.
Anyone with additional information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
