Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3950 Hollister Road about 9:40 p.m. last Friday (July 8).
The identity of the victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Detective A. Dudley reported:
HPD patrol officers were responding to an unrelated call at an apartment complex at the above address when someone flagged them down. The citizen reported a group of males, dressed in red shirts, carrying guns and walking around the complex.
As officers searched the area for the suspicious males, a dispatcher notified them of a shooting at the same location. Officers then located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Officers detained a person of interest after a short foot pursuit. At this time, no one is charged as the investigation continues.
