Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 3600 Willowbend Boulevard about 9:35 a.m. last Friday (April 8).
The victim is identified as Amber Butler, 27.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak and J. Wallschlaeger reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found Ms. Butler unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a white, Chevrolet Malibu, parked in the main lane of traffic and the engine still running. She had suffered a gunshot wound and paramedics pronounced Butler deceased at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined Butler was in the late stages of pregnancy and the unborn child did not survive. There was no evidence of weapons or ammunition near the scene.
At this time, investigators do not believe this incident to be a result of aggressive driving or a suicide.
The investigation is continuing.
