Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 3500 Fountain View Drive about 3:20 a.m. today (May 29).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Jackson and J. Young reported:
The victim was stopped at a red light in the southbound lanes of Fountain View Drive at the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road when a white, two-door vehicle, possibly a Honda, was stopped two lanes over. After an exchange of words, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the victim and struck him at least once. The victim sped off and crashed into a traffic signal pole. The suspect fled the scene eastbound on the Southwest Freeway service road toward Chimney Rock Road. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The suspect is described only as a possible black male.
