Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3341 Winbern Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3341 Winbern Street about 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday (August 3).

The identity of the victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a convenience store at the above address and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

A preliminary investigation and evidence from the scene determined a male suspect ran up to the victim and shot him multiple times.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot westbound toward a nearby apartment complex.

The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a red mask.  Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.
