Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 3300 Dixie Drive about 5:10 p.m. on Thursday (July 23).
The identity of the victim, believed to be 40 to 50 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective L. Osborn reported:
Patrol officers received a call of a possible deceased male found in an alley near the above address. Officers arrived and learned the man was pronounced deceased. As they investigated the scene, officers located spent bullet casings in front of a nearby motel.
Detectives arrived and learned the victim was shot shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday (July 22) and then made his way to the alley where he was found the next day.
