Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 305 North Bryan Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 305 North Bryan Street that occurred about 9:35 p.m. on Thursday (February 11).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Detective M. Perez reported:

The victim and a witness drove to an area of Anita Street and Scott Street to purchase narcotics.  After leaving the area and driving through the neighborhood toward Scott Street, they noticed a black SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, behind them.  When they stopped at a red light at Scott Street, the SUV drove up on the right side of their vehicle and the driver fired at least twice into their vehicle, striking the victim.  The witness accelerated and drove out of the area back to the victim’s residence, where he called 9-1-1.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The suspect is described only as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s.
