HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call in a strip center parking lot at the above address and were advised a male was shot and pronounced deceased by paramedics.
It appears the male was at the location with his wife waiting to pick up a check from his employer. While waiting, a white car pulled up to the store and the male walked to the passenger side and entered the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle told detectives he did not know the male and, fearing for his safety, he fired one shot that struck the male.
After reviewing surveillance video, detectives questioned the shooter and then contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. It was determined the incident would be referred to a grand jury.
Anyone with any additional information in the case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
