The fatal shooting of a male at 2425 Carmel Street that occurred about 2 a.m. on Tuesday (July 27) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Jimenez and Detectives J. Campbell and H. Horne reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found spent casings and blood in the driveway of the residence, but did not locate a victim. Further information revealed the victim had been transported to an area hospital by a private vehicle. Doctors pronounced him deceased.
A possible altercation between the resident of the above address and the victim led to the resident shooting the victim more than one time. The resident was questioned and released. After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the shooting would be referred to a grand jury.
