Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2300 Milby Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female at 2300 Milby Street about 7 p.m. on Wednesday (April 13).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Vaughn and B. Stephens reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the roadway at the above address and found an abandoned vehicle with visible damage from gunshots on the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road.  Officers also located a second vehicle – with a female inside – that crashed into a residence.  The female had suffered a gunshot wound.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  A preliminary investigation indicated multiple unknown suspects fired shots at a vehicle.

At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects in the shooting.
