The fatal shooting of a home invasion suspect at 2239 Naomi Street about 1 a.m. today (March 3) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the suspect, in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. LaFour and M. Perez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a suspicious person call near the above address. The caller stated a male in his 20s was banging on doors and attempting to enter the residences. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. Shortly after leaving, officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address. The homeowner stated he was asleep when a male forced entry into the rear of the residence and went upstairs. The homeowner stated he feared for his life, retrieved his gun, and shot the suspect.
The suspect fled the scene and collapsed outside the residence where he was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
