The fatal shooting of a man in the 2000 block of Eubanks Street about 4:25 a.m. on this morning (May 15) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Persad and L. Gonzales reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a crash at the above location and found a vehicle in a ditch and a male lying in the roadway. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
A second male at the scene informed paramedics he had suffered a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Preliminary investigation indicates both males were involved in an altercation which escalated into a shooting and a struggle for a gun. Both males were struck.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined this case will be reviewed by a Harris County grand jury.
