Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 15300 Fondren Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 15300 Fondren Road about 10:15 p.m. on November 11.

The identity of the victim, 63, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. LaFour and J. Escobar reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they learned Houston Fire Department paramedics were transporting the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital with a gunshot wound.  Officers subsequently learned the man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Further investigation determined the victim had just left a nearby convenience store when he encountered an unknown suspect while walking on the sidewalk.  The unknown suspect shot him and then fled the scene.
