Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1414 Cook Street found about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday (September 4).
The identity of the victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detectives L. Patterson and N. Henderson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a check on welfare call at a residence at the above address and found an unresponsive man with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
Family members told detectives that the victim was in town visiting a friend who lives in the area, and they had last spoken to him a few days prior.
At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
