| Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a woman at 131 Wellington Street about 1 p.m. on Tuesday (December 22).
The victim, Laura Natalya Rodriguez, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Casso and M. Brady reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found Ms. Rodriguez deceased with a gunshot wound to the neck.
A preliminary investigation indicated Rodriguez’s relative, who also lives at the residence, accidentally discharged a firearm he was handling and fatally shot her.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
