Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12509 Alief Clodine Road about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday (June 29).
The identity of the victim, 39, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Torres and A. Graf reported:
HPD patrol officers working an approved extra job for an event at an area park heard gunshots and went to investigate. Officers found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
Further investigation determined the victim and one other male got into an argument during a dice game. The victim left the scene, returned with a firearm and assaulted the male with whom he initially argued. At that time, two unknown suspects fired shots and struck the victim. The suspects, described only as black males, fled the scene in an unknown direction.
