Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another that occurred at 12200 West Houston Center Boulevard about 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 22).
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A second male victim, 19, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Smith and Officer M. Estep reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address. After speaking with witnesses and the second male victim, officers learned both victims had met with the suspects to conduct a transaction in 11300 block of Westheimer. While at the Westheimer address, the second male victim got into the suspect’s vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle left the parking lot. It was followed by the first victim’s’ vehicle.
When the vehicles approached West Houston Center Boulevard, the first victim exited his vehicle and approached the suspect’s vehicle. Witnesses stated they heard yelling and gunshots. The first victim was struck and fled the scene to a nearby parking lot where he collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim sustained two gunshot wounds as he was attempting to exit the suspect’s vehicle. He was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital. The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene and was recovered a few blocks away.
The suspects are described only as two black males,19 to 21 years old.
