The fatal shooting of a male at 12000 Fleming Drive about 3:40 a.m. today (December 13) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male, 19, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Lieutenant W. Meeler and Sergeant C. Duncan reported:
Officers responded to a reported shooting in the apartment complex parking lot at the above address and found the male deceased.
A resident (shooter) stated he was approached by the male, who pointed a firearm at him as he was walking to his apartment. The resident believed he was going to be robbed and discharged his own weapon, striking the male. Paramedics pronounced the male dead at the scene. He was found to be in possession of a firearm. The resident was questioned and released pending a grand jury referral.
