Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 11655 Briar Forest Drive about 8:30 p.m. last Friday (June 7).
The identity of the victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective A. Ledford reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. Officers provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined the victim was followed home by two male suspects, who then took the victim’s jewelry and shot him.
The suspects, described only as two black males believed to be in their early 20s, fled the scene on foot.
